It’s possible to be part of Appenninica, but on a smaller scale by registering for Appenninica4 MTB Stage Race.
From Wednesday July the 24th through Saturday July the 27th riders can race the second part of Appenninica and therefore the following stages:

Riders services Appenninica4
Standard race registration for Appenninica4 includes the following services for athletes
Course and tracking
Each stage presents the best that the area offers in terms of routes and views. Various route recons will be carried out by the organization and one last time within 24 hours of each stage. Competitors must have a GPS device and the route track will be made available by the organization.
The Race Village
The Race Village – is in inhabited centers or not far from it and offers hospitality and services to the competitors as well as acting as host to the expo space.
Meals included with the standard race registration are breakfasts and typical dinners of the region (vegetarians options available). Breakfast service is available between 5:45 and 8:00 starting on July 25th (Thursday) to July 27th (Saturday). Dinner is served between 6:30pm and 8pm starting July 24th (Wednesday) to July 26th (Friday). Lunch: at the end of the stages there will be a hot dish and several kinds of beverages.
Farewell Finisher Dinner Party
Finisher dinner is included for all competitors.
There will be a minimum of three feed zones per stage between food & liquid refreshment and liquid only refreshment. In the food & liquid refreshment feed zones you can find fresh fruit and nuts, bread with sweet and savory toppings, pies, energy bars and gels, isotonic sports drink with salts, water and cola.
In liquid only refreshment feed zone you will find gel, isotonic sports drink with salts, water, cola.
Standard race registration includes 4 nights (from the end of the time trial in Porretta Terme to the night after the last stage) in the athletes’ area of the Race Village. Accommodation is provided in buildings provided by the host cities (gyms, municipality buildings, etc.).
There will be a professional timekeeping service by Winning Time, a leading company in the sector.
The bike cleaning with low-pressure hydro-cleaners and products is self-service and made available by our sponsors.
One of the feed zones will have a combined service for emergency mechanical repairs and lubrication made available by our sponsors. Competitors with teams can set up their mechanical assistance point here (and only here).
The bike park is locked and guarded day and night.
The registration includes the transportation of your race bag from stage to stage and the bike box from the start to the last host city (end of the race).
After stage stretching sessions led by a certified Yoga instructor.
On top of the race bag, riders can request a DAY bag at registration. It’s a small bag with race number that riders can use to store anything that they need before the start and at the end of the stage (warmer clothes, energy bars, rain gear, anything that is needed immediately after the finish line). The day bag is dropped off before entering the starting grid and it will be available for pick-up right at the finish line.
All competitors receive a welcome race bag and other technical material and merchandise from our sponsors.
RMT (Race Medical Team) will coordinate medical service and rescue with a minimum of one doctor on a motorcycle and two ambulances other than basic medical treatment station at the finish line.
Finishers of the Appenninica4 will receive a dedicated finisher t-shirt.
You should be in Alto Reno Terme (aka Porretta Terme) on the morning of Wednesday, July 24th. Your first stage, which is stage 4 of the full race, is a time trial and Appenninica4 participants will be scheduled to start after all other riders giving you time to check-in at the Appenninica4 desk and get ready (actual times to be announced). If you prefer to arrive a night earlier, you can book a hotel or b&b in Porretta Terme or ask us about hotels that have special Appenninica rates.
Porretta Terme is 70 km from the center of Bologna and it can be reached via a local train with departures every hour (it takes 1 hr and 10 min).
Parking: if you are arriving by car, you can park your vehicle in Porretta Terme and get a ride back after the race (morning of July 28th). The cost of the transfer is 75 Euro (mind that the shuttle will make a stop at Bologna Marconi Airport first).
