Just a few hours to the start of the Appenninica MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race and it’s time to look at the last details before the start. Be ready!

The first edition of the Appenninica MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race is ready to take off, the start will be given from Bologna on Saturday 20 July at 12.00, from then on it will be 8 days of passion, sweat, fun and … good vibes!

To be an edition 0 the organization is very happy with the 50 participants, including American professional rider Coulton Hartrich, who will start with the number 1, and several Marathon specialists from all over the world.

As previously communicated, due to the damage caused by bad weather, the route of the Apennines MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race has undergone some changes and therefore from the 550 km x 20,000 meters of unevenness you go up to 405 km for 15,000 meters in altitude … certainly not a walk.

Appenninica prologue in Bologna
Appenninica’s MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race prologue will be hosted by the city of Bologna

The official opening of the Appenninica MTB Parmigiano Reggiano Stage Race will take place in Bologna on Saturday 20th July, where riders will be welcomed in the Welcome Village, at the  Giardino Bandiera De Coubertin between the Meloncello arch and the Dall’Ara stadium.

The staff will carry out the registration of the bikers and the delivery of the race numbers, the chip timing, the RIDER GUIDE (which you can read HERE) and the identification bracelet.

All riders must report to the accreditation desk, set-up in the venue of the prologue, between 8:30 am and 11:30 am on Saturday, July 20th.

To complete the accreditation, all participants will need an identity document and a FCI racing license (or the UCI equivalent). If you do not hold a racing license, a medical certificate less than 6-month will allow you to purchase a FCI (Italian Cycling Federation) daily racing license.

You will find your start time posted at the race office. You must be ready 15 min before your posted starting time. You can warm-up away from the race course. By the time you are ready to start, you must have delivered your bike case (if any) and non-race luggage because these will leave for Bagno di Romagna at once. Everything that you need including things to shower and something to change in for the drive to Berceto will have to be in either your Appenninica race bag or day bag.

Bike wash will be available and once you are done taking care of your MTB you should bring it to Appenninica staff in the loading area. All bikes must be loaded between 13:30 and 14:30.
