July 20/27, 2019 – Emilia Romagna, Italy

Appenninica is the race that everyone’s been waiting for but that no one expects.  The varied and beautiful scenery of the Apennine Mountains is the backdrop for this tough course that takes place in the land of Italian hospitality, Emilia-Romagna. The team includes organizers of the MTB World Cup, IMBA Italia, Happy Trail MTB, staff members that worked on the logistics of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, and a media agency leader in the Italian mountain bike scene. Milena Bettocchi and Beppe Salerno are the creators and main organizers.  While participating in many MTB stage races around the world they dreamed of bringing an international-level event to Italy.  From that vision, the 1st edition of the Appenninica MTB Stage Race was created.

The race course consists of a prologue and seven stages with a total of over 500 km and approximately 20.000 mt of elevation gain. A mix of technical, fun, tough trails with Italian style. Stages preview starting in November 2018.

A four-stage format called Appenninica4 is available to SOLO riders.
